How to Play Forward in Soccer

In the game of soccer, forward is an extremely important position. To become a forward one must have speed, good footwork, a powerful shot, and many more attributes.

 Steps

  1. 1
You will have to be good at trapping (bringing the ball from the air to the ground in a quick motion), because a lot of the game at this age is through the air.

  2. 2
Heading the ball is also a large part of the game. When the ball is passed through the air it is usually easiest to get your head on it rather than any other part of your body.
  3. 3
Once you have the ball you must be able to dribble around the defenders and to the goal by using a variety of "moves" such as the Maradona, the step-over, or the scissors.
  4. 4
You must have a good strong kick because you can't dribble around the defenders all the time.
  5. 5
On offense you have to do as much passing as any other position on the field if not more. A good pass should lead the receiver of the pass up the field or should be placed right onto their foot.

  • Don't be quiet on the field. Constantly let your teammates know where you are on the field so that they can get you the ball with ease.
  • SCORE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.
  • Never give up on a ball when the goalie is coming out you never know he might make a mistake
